I guess it’s Valentine's Day

This morning I was woken up by a bell. Postman delivered me the last thing I need for the new collection, which will be presented in April at Philips Fashion Week - 240 meters of organza ribbon! And there was a surprise waiting in the package - red balloons with white hearts!

I guess it’s Valentine's Day.

 

NIKATO bride

Although it looks like there is more and more snow every day and the winter feeling just won’t go away, we are in a time when spring is coming. This is the time of love. And as I already told you, this is the time for the first NIKATO bride collection. These wedding dresses are actually a continuation of my Warrior collection. Details in clothing are connected, but are now more gentle, more romantic, as accompanied by white, cream and golden hues in rich materials.

Photographs were made in a white studio, so we played with a combination of long saten tapes, which looked like a net. All the photos were made by photographer Luka Gorjup.
Also I had the best model! Ami Kadribašič was sensual and sophisticated, like a real bride.
Anja Kert took care of this beautiful golden make-up. And for a cherry on top of this photoshoot is responsible Jana Troha, who made the hair accessories with the same material as dresses are made from.

Hair styling is not really my thing, so I hope you like it. But for the next time I will call a professional :)

BE IN LOVE!

Čeprav izgleda, da je vsak dan več snega in bolj zimsko vzdušje, smo v času, ko prihaja pomlad. V času, ko se ženijo ptički, v času valentinovega dne, v času zaljubljenosti.

In kot sem že napovedovala, je to čas za NIKATO bride kolekcijo. Te poročne obleke so pravzaprav nadaljevanje kolekcije Bojevnica. Elementi v oblačilih so med seboj povezani, vendar so zdaj bolj nežni, bolj romantični, saj jih spremljajo beli, krem in zlati odtenki v bogatih materialih.

Fotografiranje kolekcije je potekalo v studiu, ki smo ga nekoliko »začinili« s prepletom satenastih trakov, da so v fotografijah, ki jih je naredil Luka Gorjup, ustvarile dodatno vrednost.

Boljšega modela za poziranje si ne bi mogla izbrati. Ami Kadribašič je obleke nosila čutno in prefinjeno, kot prava nevesta.

Za make-up je poskrbela Anja Kert s katero sem že večkrat sodelovala in me nikoli ne razočara. 

Za piko na i pa je poskrbela Jana Troha, ki je iz enakih materialov kot so narejene obleke, pripravila tudi obročke za v lase.

Upam, da vam je všeč tudi frizura, ker to ravno ni moje področje – ampak očitno tehnika: natupiraj in spni, nekako deluje :) No, naslednjič bomo raje vključili še frizerja.

WINTER TIME

Snow is most beautiful when you look through the window with a cup of hot tea in your hand. That is why winter is an ideal time for creative work. For me at least. And even though I am working on four collections at the same time, I enjoy like never before.

The whiteness of the snow is so well correlated with the first collection, which is slowly becoming a reality. My project that I'd long wanted to create. And now, when I have a feeling that suddenly everybody is getting married, I took the time for NIKATO bride.
Let me disappoint you, I will not reveal anything right now, except that the story of warrior continues. Because, as I said before, also warriors fall in love.

And they also enjoy the snow :)

 

Sneg je najlepši, ko ga gledamo skozi okno, s skodelico toplega čaja v roki. Zato je zima idealna, da se zakopljemo v delo in ustvarjamo. Vsaj zame. In čeprav razmišljam o štirih kolekcijah naenkrat, uživam kot še nikoli.

Belina snega se tako lepo ujema s prvo kolekcijo, ki počasi že kuka na dan. Moj projekt, ki sem si ga že dolgo želela izvesti. In zdaj, ko imam občutek, da se kar naenkrat vsi poročajo, sem si vzela čas za NIKATO nevesto.

Naj vas razočaram, da ne bom še ničesar razkrila, razen tega, da se zgodba bojevnice nadaljuje. Ker, kot sem že rekla, se tudi bojevnice zaljubijo.

In uživajo na snegu :)

From MOVEMBER to MAKEMBER

First time I heard about Movember I was in Switzerland. Very funny thing actually – the first day of November all the man shave their mustache and then they post photos of have they grow for the whole month. For even more fun some sports teams in Switzerland even compete against each other – I haven't found anything similar happening in Slovenia.

Za Movember sem prvič slišala v Švici. Zelo hecna stvar v bistvu – moški se prvi dan v mesecu pobrijejo in nato cel mesec objavljajo fotografije kako jim rastejo brki. Da je stvar še bolj zabavna, v Švici nekatere športne ekipe celo tekmujejo med sabo – v Sloveniji še nisem zasledila podobnih aktivnosti.

Well men can have their mustache, but women prefere to decorate their faces otherwise. Make-up is something (almost) every woman loves. Even I. But making a perfect make-up isn't really that easy. I think I can do mine pretty well – on one eye – the other usually creates a problem. Therefore I stick to my mascara and eyeliner and dream that one day I will have a personal make-up artist who will do this for me every morning.

No moški naj kar imajo svoje brke, ženske svoj obraz okrašujemo drugače. Make up je nekaj kar (skoraj) vsaka ženska obožuje. Tudi jaz. Ampak kaj, ko narediti popoln make up niti ni tako enostavno. V bistvu priznam da se znam naličiti zelo dobro – na enem očesu – potem pa ne znam na drugem narediti enako. Zato ostajam pri maskari in črtalu in sanjam o časih, ko bom imela osebno maskerko, ki mi bo vsako jutro naredila popoln make-up.

Collection ALEKSEJA

Have you ever seen a Russian tale The fool of the world and the flying ship? If you have, then you know that the Russian princess in it is Alekseja. And this flying ship was my inspiration for the fashion show Wings.

Ste kdaj gledali rusko pravljico Bedaček Peter in Leteča ladja? Če ste, potem veste, da je ruski princesi v pravljici ime Alekseja. Prav leteča ladja pa je bila moja inspiracija za modno revijo Krila.

Inspiracija

I created a collection of women's clothes, with a hidden transformations. Because of the zippers you can wear a dress in different ways. To me zippers are a wonderful thing - both functional and aesthetic, so I would not be surprised if I soon made a collection full of zippers...

Nastala je kolekcija ženskih oblek, ki v sebi skrivajo transformacije. Zadrge se odpenjajo in zapenjajo, obleka pa se spreminja... Zadrge se mi namreč zdijo čudovita stvar – hkrati funkcionalna in estetska. Ne bi se čudila, če bi kmalu naredila kolekcijo iz samih zadrg...
